Remax on Lawrence Weiner "Statements". Published by Seth Siegelaub in an edition of one thousand copies in 1968, Statements is Lawrence Weiner’s very first artist book. Glue-bound, it contains twelve “general” and twelve “specific” text-based statement pieces, offset-printed in small, black font against white paper. Though apparently neutral descriptions, these statements ring of instruction, or at least an invitation to realize their projected works, be it with stakes, nails, limestone, linoleum, plexiglass, enamel, or any of the many artist materials they employ.
